Art in the Absence of Others... Performance, 2025

Last year, I received an email from an artist group called Plays for Those on the Inside and Outside. The group produces “scenarios” for plays that can be performed simultaneously in different locations. As I understand it, these plays respond to -and call for solidarity- against to the unlawful incarcerations taking place in Turkey.

They say in their Subsatck and in the back of the flyer of the first play that "Plays for Those on the Inside and Outside is an initiative of a multi-disciplinary group of professionals and amateurs, in and out of the arts. We aim to explore and develop the possibilities of artistic capacities beyond the institutions, media and technologies to which we are driven in today's reality."

I performed a part from the first play, The One Who Thinks in the Absence of Others… at home, in my studio, and on one occasion at Kasa Gallery. I documented the performance in writing and sent the material back to the group. They later published it on their Substack, where they continue to share scenarios of plays for those on the inside and outside.
